The Malabar House is unique. Housed in a heritage building right in the historical center of Fort Cochin, it faces St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India. The Malabar House with all the laid back splendor of a colonial villa has been transformed by a design conscious restoration. The building houses 17 luxury rooms and suite rooms, all with individually controlled central air-conditioning as well as natural ventilation, spacious bath rooms, satellite television, telephone and private terraces or private gardens. All rooms are furnished with a mix of contemporary crafted and select antique furniture. Original artifacts, bold splashes of vivid colors and state of the art lighting create an eclectic ambience, contemporary, yet romantic and always reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the ancient Malabar coast. The building is settled in a garden with large trees and tropical vegetation, contributing to the unique ambience of Fort Cochin. The garden houses a swimming pool, an ancient stage for regular cultural events and the restaurant.
Restaurant: The Malabar Junction, our seafood specialty restaurant and crossroads of two unique food traditions, serves a blend of Mediterranean cuisine and the gourmet food of the Malabar Coast. We serve a selection of domestic and imported wines and beers in our restaurant. Create, our multifunctional conference and exhibition hall with its custom designed furniture and display of works of art has the ambience of an art space. It is laid out for a capacity up to 50 participants and offers all contemporary conference aids. Clubbed together with the other facilities of The Malabar House it is the ideal place for board meetings, work shops or exhibitions. We offer a special conference package on request. Entertainment: The Malabar House offers its own program of cultural performances on the ancient stage in the patio. |
